Alphabets are powerful: string a series of letters together and name the world. I’ve loved alphabet books all my life, and created my first using linocut prints. I’ve since made alphabets with letterpress, cyanotype, and drawn with a crow quill pen. My books are almost exclusively in an accordion format. I’m crazy about books made in unusual shapes; mine include birds and dresses, emptied compacts, and “bindings” of cast metal. Recent work includes a shell book celebrating Provincetown, and a linocut book called “The Blue Goose.”
